Flack: (Saving) on expenses - Michael Caines Restaurant, Chester

Reviewer: Emma Bithell, senior account manager, DeWinter PR

What is it good for?

The restaurant on the fifth floor of the hotel ABode Chester is a great place in the city centre that combines fine dining with a relaxed atmosphere. The venue is an impressive place to meet for business purposes and has an outside terrace.

Signature dishes

The grazing menu is fantastic value and the mushroom risotto is to die for. The chocolate orange dessert plate is also more-ish. For those with bigger pockets, try the tasting menu.

Who's the boss?

Michael Caines.

Tips please?

If you book early, there is a private dining room that seats around 18 people, which you can reserve for free. It's perfect for bigger business lunches that need a quieter area. It's also a great place to go to during the racing season, as it has views over Chester Racecourse.

What's the damage?

The grazing menu is perfect for a light lunch at just £13.50 for three courses. Alternatively go for the early dining option of two courses for £16.95 from Monday to Saturday, 6-7pm.
