UNICEF UK has promoted Katie Morrison to acting head of media. She joined in 2008 as senior media officer for fundraising and replaces Sarah Epstein, who is on maternity leave.

Jeremy Sprigge has moved into the senior media officer role after four years as media officer. Gemma Parkin steps into Sprigge's role from assistant media officer.

The Royal London Society for the Blind has appointed Julian Dailly as director of external affairs. Dailly joins from Interbrand, where he was strategic brand director. His hire was announced by chief executive Tom Pey, who joined the society in October 2010.

Shelter has this week launched a campaign to help raise funds for those in housing need.

Sheltering Hands will involve door drops, direct mail, press inserts, online advertising and social media. The campaign, which aims to raise £135,000 for the charity's work, is themed around the impact that losing a home has on families.

Oliver Bonas stores last week held cupcake breaks to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Action during Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. Strictly Come Dancing's Kristina Rihanoff and Zac Goldsmith MP visited the Victoria and Sheen branches respectively.
