Brooke will lead Shire’s global internal comms strategy, reporting to Jessica Mann, senior vice-president, global corporate comms & government relations.
The company, one of the world’s biggest biopharmaceutical specialists, is currently domiciled in Dublin, but has been tipped in the press to follow WPP’s lead and relocate to the UK after George Osborne’s Budget last week.
Brooke was previously MD of the corporate practice of London consultancy MHP, having formerly served in that role under the Mandate brand before it merged with Penrose Financial and Hogarth.
She has worked for a number of international communications agencies in both London and New York including Ketchum, Burson-Marsteller, Fleishman-Hillard and Hill & Knowlton.
Brooke has advised companies including Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, AstraZeneca and the Solvay/Fournier.
Mann commented: ‘We’re always looking to improve and build on our success; to encourage innovative thinking and to take measured risks while remaining responsible.
‘Inspiring and effective communications will help to drive this mindset even further through Shire’s growing business. Brooke’s experience and knowledge will be a valuable addition to our team and will enhance Shire’s global comms, ensuring that our employees and stakeholders are aware of how responsibility is embedded in our daily actions and approaches.’
