Fiona Macpherson, editor-in-chief of The National Magazine Company's Harpers & Queen, died this week at the age of 61. She had been suffering from cancer. Macpherson was appointed deputy editor of Harpers in the 1970s, before which she had worked on IPC women's titles. After a break to start a family and pursue a freelance career, she was made editor of Harpers in 1994.
