Shell GeoStar - the online European route planner - has announced it is to retain hi-tech PR agency Text 100 in a pan-European deal thought to be worth nearly pounds 250,000 a year. Text will handle consumer PR for the website, developed by Shell Europe.
Text has worked on a project basis for Shell GeoStar for the past five months to launch and position the site in the marketplace. But Shell communication chiefs decided to take the agency on full-time to maintain the PR push.
'We required an international PR consultancy to deliver a strong PR platform across multiple European markets at the same time,' said Shell GeoStar European marketing manager Nick Laffan.
Headed by associate director Simi Belo, the Text team will comprise 11 staff from offices in the UK, Germany, The Netherlands and affiliate agency Kencom in Denmark. Belo will lead the account from the UK, reporting to Laffan.
