BORDER LINES: HONG KONG NBA boosts Korea and China PR

The marketing arm of the US National Basketball Association is ramping up its in-house PR team in Korea and China with the promotion of Michael Denzel to managing director. The move comes as NBA Asia hopes to expand basketball’s appeal in Asian markets. The company plans to hire two PR staff in China by the end of the year and a new PR manager for Korea. NBA’s Asian PR is handled from Hong Kong by Cheong Sau Ching, who reports to vice-president Mary Reiling-Spenser in New York.
