Discovery Networks Europe has appointed Elizabeth Healey to the new
post of press and publicity manager.
Healey will run a team of five press officers and report directly to
Virginia Lee, director of corporate communications.
Lee said the rapid growth of the channel - there are now eight brands -
was behind the appointment. Digital, niche strands have recently joined
its existing analogue service Discovery Channel Europe. A new brand,
Discovery Health, will be launched in June, with an on-line service to
Healey, who was previously PR manager at business news channel CNBC
Europe, will have responsibility for broadening Discovery’s audience of
journalists across all media in the EMEA region.
Lee said that Discovery has no retained agencies and no plans to start
