Hilton Hotels has appointed Mason Williams to run a media relations

campaign as part of a pounds 10 million campaign in the UK and Ireland

to relaunch the brand.

The campaign, following the takeover of the Stakis chain a year ago, has

a six-figure budget.

Amanda McKnight, a senior account manager at the agency, said: ’It is a

high-profile rebranding of the group to appeal to both the business and

leisure traveller.’

The agency, which is based in Manchester, will work alongside the

Glasgow-based Morgan Partnership which will handle advertising and

direct mail, and Tayburn Design of Edinburgh. The three agencies will

work alongside the in-house marketing team.

The 54-hotel Stakis chain was bought last January for pounds 1.2 billion

by Hilton Hotels’ owners, the Ladbroke Group. The group subsequently

adopted the Hilton Group name for its whole business, but the current

activity is restricted to the hotels division.
