Flack: (saving) on expenses - Dimitris, Manchester

Reviewer: Louise Matthews, director, IVE Global

- What is it good for?

Dimitris is a fantastic little Greek taverna that perfectly combines an authentic feel with an inviting and relaxing environment. It is ideal for an informal lunch/early evening gathering. There is a vast selection of tapas on offer, as well as more substantial main meals including moussaka and tagines.

- Signature dishes

The hot and spicy chorizo is a must with whatever dishes you order and the halloumi is grilled to perfection, as is the camembert.

- Who's the boss?

Dimitri Griliopoulos.

- Tips please?

The inside/outside courtyard area, together with twinkling fairy lights, is great during the summer months for a real Mediterranean feel in the centre of Manchester.

- What's the damage?

The lunchtime specials include one tapas and one side dish for £6.95. Tapas prices range from £5 to £7 each. Alternatively, go for the three-course meal available for £12.50 from Mondays to Thursdays.

Dimitris Tapas Bar Taverna, Campfield Arcade, Deansgate, Castlefield, Manchester, M3 4FN. 0161 8393319.
