The British Heart Foundation has appointed David Barker, currently
head of media relations at the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, as
communications manager. Barker will have responsibility for media
relations, advertising and publications and also handle the charity’s
agency, Manning Selvage and Lee. He will report to communications
director Betty McBride who joined earlier this year from Help the Aged.
Among the future communications challenges for the charity is the
promotion of its 40th birthday celebrations next year. He replaces
Louisa Fyans who is leaving to join the BBC World Service.
