Top five UK financial services company Prudential has appointed a
new head of communications for its UK retail arm.
Claire Stanton, who joins from Visa International, will head the
eight-strong Prudential Retail communications team, reporting to
managing director Roger Flynn.
Stanton, who was previously Visa’s head of internal communications, will
oversee both internal and external communications in her new role.
She has replaced Prudential Retail’s previous head of communications,
Helen Crossfield, who left six months ago to lead Deutsche Bank’s
internal communications team.
’The role involves looking at all the different aspects of the
communications mix, including media relations and internal relations,
making sure employees are aware of what’s happening in the organisation
and that their needs are being met,’ said Stanton.
Prudential Retail is one of the group’s four UK divisions, operating
alongside Life and Pensions, General Insurance and Prudential

At Visa, Stanton was responsible for internal communications for the
company’s European division.
Visa is understood to be planning to appoint Stanton’s replacement from
within the company, and will make an announcement next week.
Visa’s vice-president of corporate affairs, Chris McLaughlin, said they
are also in the process of recruiting for the PR division now, with a
view to restructuring the whole division in the autumn.
Before joining Visa, Stanton worked at management consultancy PA
Consulting in its communication strategy team.
