Stop Press: Livingstone U-turn on banning lobbyists

London Mayor Ken Livingstone has made a U-turn on a pledge that lobbyists would not be allowed access to the GLA building or staff. Guidelines now say there is no intention of imposing a ban, but have set out a code of conduct, which states members and staff must avoid preferential treatment of paid lobbyists and prohibits members from work which would involve them in lobbying or consultancy.
