Campaigns: Legal - Law firm uses pre-nup case as launch pad

Campaign: Pre-nups
Client: Dennison Greer Solicitors
PR team: Fido PR
Timescale: October 2010
Budget: £3,000

Dennison Greer Solicitors in Manchester asked Fido PR to launch its new family law division to the media.

OBJECTIVES

- To raise awareness of the division

- To raise the profile of the head of division, Lisa Kemp

- To attract clients.

STRATEGY AND PLAN

The high-profile Radmacher pre-nup case presented an opportunity to position Dennison Greer and Kemp as opinion leaders. Fido approached Harvey Nichols to create the world's first pre-nup package for the bride who has everything - and wants to keep it. A news story announcing the package was issued to the media on the same day as the landmark ruling in the Radmacher case, in which a pre-nup was upheld in the British supreme courts for the first time.

MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION

Media coverage included a five-minute slot on The One Show and pieces in You and Your Wedding, the Daily Mail, Brides, the Manchester Evening News and the Law Society Gazette.

RESULTS

Since the campaign, Kemp has been asked for her perspective on alimony and other div-orce issues by The One Show. As a direct result of her appearance on the show, Dennison Greer received instructions on a landmark same-sex adoption case.
