ADELAIDE: Crisis management firm Rann Communications has offered to
help restore the image of Snowtown, following one of Australia’s
grisliest murder cases.
Snowtown hit the headlines last May when eight bodies were found
partially dissolved in barrels of acid in a disused bank vault in the
town. It has since become a morbid tourist attraction, with some local
businesses selling souvenirs commemorating the event.
Rann Communications helps two worthy causes each year, and is now
working on a three-year project with the Snowtown Action Group to
restore the town’s image.
Ideas for improving the town’s profile include attracting government
grants and cultural events to the town to give it a facelift.
Chief executive Chris Rann said: ’We can’t erase what happened, but we
can help the town move on.’
