Storm Communications has been called in to handle PR for AidEx, a new exhibition dedicated to the supply of services and equipment for disaster relief and humanitarian aid.

The event will take place in Brussels on 19-20 October. Storm was appointed following a four-way international pitch.

Jewish Care has appointed Frank PR to launch a film, Pearls of Wisdom, which invites people to reconsider the role of the elderly in society today. The campaign will focus primarily on building the digital audience for the film and encouraging viewer interaction with the campaign, with a view to collecting user-generated content.

The Blue Cross has recruited a new director of fundraising. Mike Crossley joins from fellow animal charity PDSA, where he was director of marketing. Crossley is charged with raising The Blue Cross' income at a time when public finances are already stretched.

Macmillan Cancer Support has launched Cancertalk Week on 15-22 February and has partnered with Boots UK to bring cancer information and support to the high street. Boots UK and Macmillan are running drop-in cancer information sessions in over 100 Boots UK stores.
