Hotwire has been brought in to handle a European PR brief for software provider 1E. Hotwire will manage a campaign initially in the UK, with ad hoc project-based activity in France and Germany. This is the first time 1E has used an agency for a European campaign. Gavin Bradbury, vice-president, marketing, EMEA, at 1E, said: 'IT efficiency, specifically saving money, energy and reducing IT excess is a topic that demands attention of any forward-thinking organisation. We needed a campaign that would get our voice heard and secure greater visibility and awareness.'

Vue Cinemas has launched a Facebook page allowing fans to book tickets from within the social network. The page, created by marketing and research agency Dubit, includes a tailor-made app allowing fans to reserve tickets, view trailers and organise events from within the page. Further enhancements on Facebook in 2011 include a quiz app and opportunities for greater engagement.

Rebellion, the computer games developer and book publisher, has appointed Michael Molcher, press officer at Leeds County Council, as PR co-ordinator. Joining one of the largest independent games development studios in Europe, Molcher's role will be to handle PR across the Rebellion group and maximise awareness of the firm's products.

Wray and Nephew, the rum distiller, has called in PR agency LDR London to launch a digital campaign for Appleton Estate Jamaican Rum. The agency already looks after the brand's traditional and experiential PR campaigns for the UK market.

Ballou PR and Wisdom London are to form a partnership to bring social media into the Ballou PR offering.
