Pearson, the publisher of the Financial Times, this week launches a
new pan-European e-commerce magazine, Connectis, designed to provide
readers with an informed view of developments in e-commerce.
The new publication will be edited by Patrick de Jacquelot. Local
language editions will be inserted in Les Echos in France, Expansion in
Spain and in the Financial Times in the UK and the rest of Europe.
’The internet is our industrial revolution,’ said de Jacquelot. ’We hope
our readers will gain a real competitive advantage from using our
features, profiles and advice to guide them.’
Connectis will include original features and news stories written by
Pearson’s pool of 500 journalists from its business publications. It
will focus on bringing business up to date with major commercial on-line
developments. Financial Times journalists including Andrew Fisher, Tony
Jackson, Peter Martin, and Christopher Price will contribute.
Initial areas to be covered include: transforming your company; the
financial services revolution; tackling the online consumer; getting the
most out of the e-economy and e-society; and developing a personal
e-life.
The first edition will have a circulation of over 600,000, this will
increase to 700,000 when FT Deutschland is launched early next year. The
magazine will be a colour supplement, produced on a bi-monthly basis,
and will be edited in Paris.
Pearson’s three business newspapers are read by 2.1 million readers
across the world daily. The first edition of the magazine will be
published on Friday 26 November.
Pearson also owns 50 per cent stakes in The Economist and in BDFM,
publisher of South Africa’s leading financial newspapers and web site.
