The newly joined editor-in-chief of B magazine, Gina Johnson, has
reshuffled her editorial team as her first move since she arrived at the
title last month.
Sarah Maber, previously senior writer, has been promoted to features
editor. She replaces Jo Hawkins, who has joined Marie Claire as
commissioning editor. In the features team, Catherine O’Donnell moves up
to the position of senior writer, and Emma Elms becomes features
writer.
In the fashion department, Hilary Owens has been named as fashion
editor, moving up from her position as fashion stylist. Previously,
Nicola Rose, who has now joined Red, was fashion director, and Madeleine
Smith, who has gone freelance, was deputy fashion editor. Sally Dixon
has been made fashion assistant.
’We have a great team, they have a total understanding of the young
women’s market,’ said Johnson.
Johnson joined the Attic Futura-owned magazine in October (PR Week, 22
October) to replace Lorraine Butler, who left to join the Sunday Times
at the end of August. Johnson was previously based at Attic Futura’s
parent company, PMP Australia, where she was editorial director of B and
publisher of new projects.
B, which targets the young women’s magazine market, is the fastest
growing title in its sector, with monthly sales of 235,941.
