Public Affairs: The week in lobbying

Fleishman-Hillard head of corporate comms and issues management David Hart is leaving the agency to relocate to Geneva, where he will set up his own comms offering.

Hart is a former press secretary to Conservative MP David Davis. The news of his departure comes a week after the agency's regional president Kevin Bell stepped down.

BAA has put its pitch for UK and EU public affairs and corporate comms support on hold as the comms team reviews the set-up. The airports operator has shortlisted a number of agencies.

DLA Piper, the international law firm and owner of the Global Government Relations group, has merged with Australian business law firm DLA Phillips Fox. Global Government Relations is headed up in the UK by partner Mike Pullen and director Eben Black.

GK Political has signed Luther Pendragon consultant Richard Gardner as an associate director. Pendragon is due to take up the post next month.

Dods, the political information and comms company, has appointed former Conservative Party HQ operations manager Elliot Grainger as head of campaigns and events.
