Healthcare - The week in healthcare - Hires at M:Communications

M:Communications has strengthened its healthcare team with the appointments of Katja Toon as senior consultant and Nick Francis as consultant.

Toon joins from College Hill, where she held the position of partner, while Francis joins from Takeda Pharmaceuticals Europe, where he was head of comms.

90TEN Healthcare has appointed Matthew Kent as associate director. Kent joins the agency following six years at Tonic Life Communications, including three years in the US where he headed Tonic's New York office. In his previous position at Tonic, Kent led key accounts for clients including Johnson & Johnson and GlaxoSmithKline.

Signature Communications has been brought in by the Acne Academy, a group of healthcare professionals specialising in dermatology and acne, to support, develop and promote the organisation as it grows following its inception in 2009.

Pfizer, the leading pharmaceutical company, has extended its use of Twitter with its French division joining the microblogging site. It joins European Twitter accounts already run by the company, including those for Spain, Turkey, Austria and Slovakia.
