COLOGNE: Sony Deutschland has merged its press, PR and marketing
functions into one 50-strong corporate communications unit. Udo
Freialdenhofen, formerly head of press and PR, will manage the new
department, reporting to chairman Leo Bonengl. His previous position has
been filled by Marion Eisenblatter, his deputy for the last two years.
Eisenblatter is still responsible for business and internal
communications and product PR. The new structure was first tried at Sony
