Marketforce Communications has been appointed to handle the UK PR
for Korean car maker Hyundai’s sponsorship of the Euro 2000 football
tournament to be held in Belgium and Holland.
The account was won byMarketforce’s Belgian partner firm, PR Force.
David Saunders, director of Marketforce, will head the account,
reporting to Hyundai UK and to PR Force, which devised the pan-European
PR Force was appointed by sports marketing firm Octagon, which saw
pitches from three Belgium-based PR agencies. Octagon devised the
sponsorship activity for Hyundai, with the ’Goodwill Ball Tour’, which
involves 16 giant footballs travelling across countries involved in the
