21 January - The Guardian app is my favourite iPhone app and the only non-social networking app I look at on a daily basis. When I received the press release about the new version I was interested to see what they'd added. But they're charging a subscription ... there's improved live blogging functionality, ability to search the Guardian archive and live sports results ...

20 January - Has the growth of digital rendered the PR agency model broken? PR practitioners ... need to be jacks-of-all-trades ... I've often wondered whether the current model is flawed and whether we should be looking at a set-up similar to what you would find in ad land, with client-facing account people supported by creatives, planners and producers etc. With PROs having to deal with multiple specialisms ... is it too much to expect everyone to be proficient in everything? ...

19 January - Today someone said something which still has me reeling: 'Facebook will eventually replace websites' ... That is the worst idea ever ... Facebook will not always be as popular as it is today. And there are tons of businesses that still block Facebook and tons of people who would sooner cut off their hands than sign up for an account on Facebook.
