Voluntary Sector: The Week in Charities

Fifth Estate, the CIPR voluntary sector group, has launched 'Get Heard', a survey exploring the extent to which charity comms professionals are heard at a strategic level within their organisations. 'Get Heard' will be used as the basis for a report in the spring.

The Soil Association has recruited The National Trust's external affairs director Helen Browning as a director. Browning will take the new role in the spring. She joined The National Trust in January 2010, before which she was a policy adviser at The Soil Association.

SKV Communications has been hired to work with Royal Manchester Children's Hospital charity and the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust charity as part of a year-long campaign to raise awareness of their fundraising work.

Cancerkin, the breast cancer charity, has launched a campaign in which celebrities including Joanna Lumley, Kelly Brook and Isla Fisher have decorated their bras. The bras are being auctioned online and will be displayed at The Comedy Store in London on 21 February.

YouthNet has appointed youth marketing expert James Scroggs to the board of trustees. Scroggs is the founder of HoopLondon, which supports start-ups and mature businesses.
