HONG KONG: Shandwick International is seeking to appoint someone to
head its broadcast division in Asia-Pacific.
Plans are at an advanced stage to fill the Hong Kong-based role, which
will be at director level and will report to Tessa Curtis, Shandwick
Broadcast’s global chief executive. Curtis is planning to travel to the
region within the next few weeks.
The specialist division was launched by Shandwick in 1997 following the
appointment of Curtis, formerly a business correspondent at the BBC. The
division is also understood to be on the verge of appointing a new head
to its German operation.
According to Curtis, the agency is seeking to build international
relations with clients such as Kodak and Barclays Global Investors. UK
clients include PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Meat and Livestock
Commission and Anglian Water.
Curtis reports to Shandwick’s UK chief executive Philip Dewhurst.
