Last Wine Bar, Norwich.

Reviewer Pete Joyner, PR director, Shorthose Russell

- What is it good for?

The Last Wine Bar is a Norwich institution, which combines a quick lunch menu with more refined evening menu, also available at lunchtime. It is right in the heart of the city and popular with the local creative industry and business people.

- Signature dish

The steak and chips are great. They also have a great range of pasta dishes and bistro favourites on the lunch menu.

- Who's the boss?

It's a proper family affair, run for the past 20 years by James Sawrey-Cookson and his stepson Ecky Limon.

- Tips please?

As the name suggests, the wine list is extensive. More than 40 are available by the glass and in 50cl carafes - ideal for lunch when there is work to be done later.

- What's the damage?

The bar menu has half a dozen starters at £4.95 and a similar number of mains for £8.50. A three-course meal from the restaurant menu comes in at around £25.
