13 January - Foursquare has updated its app to allow check-ins with photos. After just three weeks, it has hit one million photo shares. But are location and check-in apps a flash in the pan? The figures speak for themselves - the check-in is here to stay (according to 46.2% of respondents in Foursquare's survey). But will all platforms survive? The sustainability of the high number of location-based apps is in question, particularly with big players such as Facebook Places entering the game.

I agreed with many of the findings, but would say that in the UK, some of the privacy and security concerns may hamper take-up, compared with the US.
