It was widely reported that the character of Edina, played by Jennifer Saunders, was based on Franks. Until now, Franks has denied this, but in an exclusive interview in this issue she signalled a change of heart.
Reflecting on her initial hurt and shock she said: 'I took myself too seriously. Now I think, what a compliment. I feel great affection for the show and the characters.'
Franks also lifted the lid on her time on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, and told who she believed had taken her crown as the doyen of PR.
