Granted I didn't attend this year's CES (technology show) in Las Vegas but I have in the past and this one seemed a bit of doozy that would leave a long queue at the refund counter. 'Me-too' products, over-designed upgrades and a general 'meh' range of new products seem to be the order of the day. Sure it was a tough year last year, but I'm sad to say the time was not spent on sensibly refining and innovating - all bets seem incredibly safe ...

Get to know your work contacts better - that lunch or drink will help your working relationship and show you know how to play the game.
