City & Corporate: Cook sets up comms firm

Charles Cook, a former deputy chairman of Bell Pottinger Corporate & Financial, has left financial PR agency Merlin to form a new corporate comms consultancy.

Attila Consultants launched this month with six initial clients that have worked with Cook in the past.

They are: Global Infrastructure Partners, the US-based fund that owns London City and Gatwick airports; Quercus Publishing, the listed publisher that owns the rights to the Stieg Larsson Millennium novels; commodity trading firm Balli Group; investment bankers Evolution Group; real estate fund manager Cadena Group; and investment management firm Williams de Broe.

Attila launches alongside two other independent comms consultancies - Gryphon Corporate Counsel and Waughton. The three separate entities will share facilities, the executive team and support staff.
