The Red Consultancy has picked up a six-figure fee account for
NatWest, launching two new on-line services for the high street
bank.
The agency will handle PR for the October launch of NatWest’s first
comprehensive on-line banking service for both business and private
customers - the most important part of the brief.
Red will also promote a new on-line presence for the bank’s Face to Face
financial literacy programme, an educational service which is used in
half the schools in England and Wales.
The work was won after a five-way pitch against agencies including
Firefly, Green Moon and Band and Brown.
Red will work alongside NatWest’s in-house PR team to promote the two
services across a range of media, including business, consumer,
technology and lifestyle.
Anthony Frost, deputy head of media relations, retail and commercial
businesses, at NatWest, said: ’The challenge is to make the services
sound interesting and stand out at a time when other banks have similar
services.’
The bank said the consultancy’s experience in e-commerce and web
technology, as well as the originality of its ideas, won it the
business.
The agency’s managing director, Lesley Brend, said the project would put
NatWest at the heart of the e-commerce revolution.
