Focus-Do It All, the UK’s third largest DIY chain, is reviewing its
consumer and corporate PR accounts in a bid to raise its profile among
shoppers and corporate decision-makers.
This comes after a year-long rebranding exercise following the takeover
of ailing DIY chain Do It All by northern DIY chain Focus.
Focus-Do It All has used Cheltenham-based Target Consultancy and its
previous incarnation, Target PR, for its consumer and corporate PR for
the past six years.
Despite Focus being privately-owned, its new PR brief involves a degree
of City awareness-building alongside more traditional consumer and
corporate work. The company is aiming to expand, both organically and
Focus-Do It All’s consumer PR manager, Anthea Fosti, and corporate
communications head, Heather Love, to whom any agency will report, may
appoint a single agency, or several to work together. A four-strong
shortlist is being drawn up, which will automatically include
Agencies under consideration include: Burson-Marsteller, Communique,
Harrison Cowley, Leedex GTPR, Shandwick, Key Communications, Hogarth,
Grandfield and McCann Weber.
Love said: ’We’re going to be growing and want to have an agency with
more of a national presence and a financial element. There are lots of
ideas in the pot for the next three to four years and, looking ahead,
we’d rather not have to look at agencies again.’
