PR Week’s owner Haymarket Publishing has set up a 50:50 joint
venture with the publisher of Germany’s only weekly PR magazine,
PRReport.
The venture adds a third arm to Haymarket’s international PR publishing
network. PR Week was launched in the US in 1998, and Haymarket set up a
joint venture with the owners of Asian PR News in May this year.
A daily e-mailed PR news service in English is planned for January 2000,
and will provide subscribers with news from the Asian, US, UK and German
publications, as well as from a network of other correspondents around
the world.
Haymarket chairman Michael Heseltine said: ’Germany is the third largest
market for public relations worldwide after the US and UK, and is
growing rapidly. This is a great opportunity for Haymarket to invest in
the German PR market.’
PRReport, which will continue with its existing team in place including
editor Sebastian Vesper, has been published in Germany for 35 years.
Publisher Sebastian Lorff-Kossow said: ’In future, it will have a more
international flavour, a new, larger format and a much higher
circulation starting in January 2000. An increase in the number of
employees and a marketing offensive will accompany the joint venture.’
