MEDIA BRIEFS: GWR creates a Storm for radio licence bid

GWR Group has created a company, The Storm, to bid for the new West Midlands analogue licence, to be advertised next month. The West Midlands will be the 14th regional licence to be awarded and covers the Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry areas. GWR has co-opted Carlton’s weather presenter for the region, Charlie Neil, and Warwickshire batsman turned commentator Paul Smith to front Storm’s bid.
