Banner Corporation has been appointed by internet domain name

registrar, Network Solutions to strengthen the company’s brand

identity.

The agency won the contract in a two-way competitive pitch with Brodeur

Worldwide, whose contract with Network Solutions finished at the end of

last year.

The one-year, six-figure fee contract includes media relations and new

product PR.

Network Solutions was acquired last week by on-line security provider

VeriSign in a deal worth pounds 13 billion. Part of Banner’s brief will

be the redefinition of its brand in the light of this acquisition.

Banner is also pitching for Network Solutions’ advertising across

Europe, which will be awarded in the next couple of weeks.

’We’re hoping to help Network Solutions have a wholly integrated

campaign,’ said Ted Lelekas, Banner’s internet services group

director.

Lelekas will head the campaign, which will be geared towards the

European business community. He also headed the team that launched

Network Solutions in Europe in 1999 while he was at Brodeur

Worldwide.

’It was a coincidence that I left Brodeur at the same time as the

contract with Network Solutions ran out, but I did have a good

relationship with the people at Network Solutions,’ he said.

Banner Corporation, founded in 1984, is a European specialist technology

marketing agency which expects to have a turnover this fiscal year of

pounds 22 million.

Network Solutions, which was founded in 1979, has more than 8.1 million

net registrations.
