Carlton Online goes to Talk Loud

Talk Loud PR has been appointed by Carlton Online, the internet arm of the commercial TV broadcaster, to handle profile raising for the channel’s consumer web sites.

of the commercial TV broadcaster, to handle profile raising for the

channel’s consumer web sites.



The company, which was appointed by recommendation, was given a one-year

contract. It has also been charged with handling Carlton Online’s

corporate communications.



Talk Loud PR MD Addie Churchill, who will be heading the four-strong

team, worked with Carlton Online MD Phil Rooke before he worked at

Carlton.



Talk Loud was consequently invited in for consultation when Carlton

Online decided to ramp up its PR activity, and the account was awarded

last week.



’It is always nice to be recommended. Our brief is to kick the Carlton

web site brands into touch and make sure that they gain the same

recognition as the TV station,’ Churchill said.



Carlton Online’s web sites include Popcorn.co.uk, the film news and

entertainment site and Jamba.co.uk, the trivia and gaming site.



The campaign will target both mainstream users and the business

community, and will involve screenings and evenings at internet cafes.

Churchill said the Popcorn site in particular has great potential to be

cited on film posters, for example.



’Talk Loud PR was chosen for its track record in the new media, youth

and entertainment fields,’ Rooke said.
