PUBLIC SECTOR: Deaf institute begins profile-raising drive

The Royal National Institute for Deaf People is looking to appoint a senior media relations officer to oversee the organisation’s profile-building efforts in Northern Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland. According to media relations head David Barker, the recruitment of a dedicated senior regional PR officer will be the first step of a strategy which, in consultation with the RNID director in each country, could see the creation of country-specific PR operations as early as the end of the year. The RNID represents 8.7 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK.
