Flack: (saving) on expenses

Wahaca Soho, London W1

Reviewer: Antony Rettie, account director, Bacchus PR

- What is it good for?

Wahaca recently opened its fourth site in Soho, and it is by far the most impressive. The ground floor restaurant is ideal for groups due to the menu style of Mexican street food sharing plates. It can be a relatively quick lunch experience for those who only have an hour.

- Signature dish

Pork Pibil (slow-cooked pork in special Yucatecan marinade), MSC Mackerel Tostada (smoked MSC-certified mackerel, tossed in fresh tomato salsa with a squeeze of lime) or Huitlacoche Quesadilla (sauteed mushrooms, Mexican corn mushroom and melted cheese).

- Who's the boss?

Masterchef winner, TV personality and general girl about town Thomasina Miers and her business partner Mark Selby.

- Tips please

Try the Wahaca Selection - a choice of the chef's favourite plates. Also pop into the downstairs bar for a game of table football.

- What's the damage?

Street food specials priced from £4.85, burritos and enchiladas from £6.40 and more substantial dishes from the grill from £9.75.
