Opinion: From our Readers - Lack of transparency causes bad feeling

The lack of transparency and clarity from the Liberal Democrats on their previous tuition fee pledge has been the major instigator of bad feeling (prweek.com/uk,10 December). If this had been acknowledged head on, a more emotive and progressive argument could have been made.

Another problem with the Government's communication around the policy seems to be the easy way the coalition seems to be visibly divided on issues, when a central view needs to be taken.

In terms of protest violence, this has detracted from the issue, but bad feeling remains and it is never too late for an honest and transparent communication to win through.
