Internet service provider PSINet has selected hi-tech agency VP to
handle its PR.
PSINet provides internet access for company web sites including Benetton
and easyEverything, the internet cafe chain launched by easyJet.
VP won a competitive pitch for the year-long account and signed the
contract two weeks ago. It has been briefed to raise awareness of PSINet
as what it claims is the world’s leading commercial ISP in the trade,
business and financial media and among key opinion-formers such as
members of digital industry trade bodies and the Government taskforce on
The agency will support this week’s launch of PSINet’s pounds 30 million
Docklands-based web hosting centre, from where the web sites are
The account will be led by VP managing director Julia Vockrodt, who
reports to PSINet marketing director Tristan Wilkinson. Vockrodt said:
’The web sites which use PSINet are commercial sites which want fast
access with no downtime and 24-hour-a-day security.’
