T&G communications chief Karen Livingstone is looking to draft in
support from lobbying agency APCO to support its ’Don’t Fly Lufthansa’
campaign, launched this week. The campaign is promoting a boycott of the
German airline after 270 workers were sacked last October at Lufthansa
Skychef, a Heathrow catering facility owned by the company.
The T&G has worked with APCO before on a campaign for former workers of
the National Bus Company. Livingstone is talking to the agency about
underpinning the European part of the campaign to reinstate the jobs by
lobbying unions and politicians in Germany and MEPs. General secretary
Bill Morris will lobby at Westmister and at the Labour Party conference
in the autumn.
