European venture capital group CVC Capital Partners has appointed the Hogarth Partnership to help manage its public profile.

European venture capital group CVC Capital Partners has appointed

the Hogarth Partnership to help manage its public profile.

Hogarth will report to Suzy Wayne, CVC’s marketing and communications

manager. Wayne said that Hogarth and College Hill were both invited to

discuss the issues surrounding CVC, but that there was no formal

pitch.

Hogarth replaces incumbent Ludgate, which had run the account for two

years.

According to Nick Denton, who is heading the account along with Rachel

Hirst, the agency will advise CVC both within Europe and globally.

’The idea is to promote CVC as a quality player in the private equity

business, not just by press relations targeting key audiences, including

investors, but by acting as a communications resource for portfolio

customers and advising with internal communications,’ said Denton.

CVC holds equity in over 70 companies. It is one of the leading European

private equity providers and manages over pounds 2.5 billion in equity

capital.

It has ten offices throughout Europe and has been involved in over 200

management buy-outs, with a total value of over pounds 12 billion.

CVC bought equity in betting chain William Hill this year and is part of

the Punch Tavern consortium, which has recently made a bid for

Allied-Domecq’s pub operations.
