Goodwin will move in to the group head of government affairs role in the New Year.
Kingfisher has over 840 stores in Europe and Asia. Its main retail brands are B&Q, Castorama, Brico Dépôt and Screwfix. The company currently retains TLG for public affairs with Goodwin leading on the account.
Goodwin is a former Conservative HQ staffer who also worked for FD’s public affairs arm before joining TLG in 2008. In the new role, he will report to will report to Nick Folland, Kingfisher’s legal and corporate responsibility director.
Folland said: ‘Kingfisher’s government relations agenda has grown significantly over the past two years, and this strengthened team will enable us to increase the level of support we offer our operating companies and take advantage of the many opportunities facing Kingfisher.’
