Lewis awarded IPR’s Stephen Tallent’s medal

Communications secretary to the Queen, Simon Lewis, has been awarded the Stephen Tallent’s Medal at this year’s Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards.

Communications secretary to the Queen, Simon Lewis, has been

awarded the Stephen Tallent’s Medal at this year’s Institute of Public

Relations Excellence Awards.



Lewis received the award from IPR president Alison Clarke for

’achievements and contributions to the development of PR practice’. The

ceremony was held on 19 June at the Hilton in London.



Other awards went to the Metropolitan Police communications team, which

was recognised for outstanding achievement by an in-house team in the

public service, charity and not-for-profit sectors and the Northern

Ireland Electricity communications department, for outstanding

achievement by an in-house team in the commercial sector. Both awards

were presented for the first time this year.



The Red Consultancy repeated its triumph of the PR Week awards by

walking away with the first ever IPR award for best PR consultancy.



Fishburn Hedges was the only double winner, taking the City and finance

category, in conjunction with CWB for ’Technology Start-Up to Industry

Leader’; as well as the public and community affairs award, with Pearl

Assurance for ’Money in the Real World’.
