Brands2Life hires Phil Murphy as director of public affairs

Brands2Life has hired a director of public affairs, who joins from PubAffairs, the public affairs industry events and online network.

Phil Murphy has been appointed to develop the agency’s public affairs practice.
Murphy’s experience includes 12 years’ UK and EU public affairs campaigning in a number of sectors, including e-commerce, data protection, broadcasting and advertising.

Prior to founding PubAffairs, Phil held senior roles with the Construction Confederation, Advertising Association, the Advertising Information Group and the European Advertising Standards Alliance.
Brands2Life co-founder Giles Fraser said: ‘Since our public affairs practice was set up in 2007, it has worked on some great client campaigns, including Sharp Electronics, the Business Software Alliance, Micro Focus, Nuance Communications and GS1 UK to name a few.

‘We’re now looking forward to Phil taking the practice to the next level and playing a key role in further developing our integrated strategic communications offer in the months ahead.’
Murphy will join on 17 January 2011, and will continue to run the PubAffairs network.

He replaces Darren Caplan, who leaves to become CEO of the Airport Operators Association.
