The BBC has announced the details of Red Alert, the new lottery
programme made by Ginger Media, due to launch in November with Lulu as
presenter.
Ginger has brought in Jon Rowlands, formerly a producer for BBC comedy
programmes, as series producer. Rowlands’ credits include Comic Relief,
Lenny Henry Goes To Town, and the Radio 4 show Loose Ends.
The show is the first the BBC has commissioned from Chris Evans’
independent production company for a prime time slot.Regular features
will include Stand By Your Doors, pulling in whole streets to
participate in the programme, which has been developed under the remit
of Eileen Gallagher, managing director of Ginger Television.
Red Alert will have a strong music element, with The Eurythmics and
Elton John already signed up to appear on the show alongside Lulu.
The show will replace the current series of National Lottery Stars, with
Dale Winton.
