The Institute of Public Relations in Singapore (IPRS) is to become
the first professional PR body in Asia to introduce accreditation to its
members in February next year. The stamp of approval will be aimed at
consultant and senior consultant level members who will be required to
take an examination every two years, based on models used by the
Institute in Australia, the UK and US. IPRS president Gregory Tan said
the 11-member board took the initiative to raise industry standards to
international levels as a result of globalisation.
