Scottish music and event promoter Colours has hired VF1 Publicity
to push the Masters of the Millennium celebration in Lanarkshire.
Colours picked VF1 without a formal pitch for the account, worth pounds
300,000 over four months.
VF1 chairman Gerard Franklin said the four-pronged PR plan would kick
off with early awareness in the November/December issues of long lead
time magazines.
The next stage is news stories throughout Scottish regions based on the
fact that the event, which is being held in Centrelink 5 Complex in
Shotts, will bring jobs back to a region which has lost investment
recently.
Franklin said: ’It’s possible others will want to use it as a venue for
other festivals and events after this.’
After that there will be pre-launch parties and a hot air balloon
stunt.
Franklin’s music publicity credentials include the promotion of clubs
such as Gatecrasher and Miss Moneypennys, and work for DJs including
Judge Jules, Sasha and Danny Rampling.
