Edmans will lead a team covering media, publications, web, film, photography and internal comms.
At Cats Protection, formerly known as the Cat's Protection League, which currently operates 256 volunteer-run branches across the UK, Edmans reports to chief executive Peter Hepburn.
Edmans said: 'Improving the organisation's fine record brings a lot of comms challenges, such as developing the Cats Protection brand and reaching out to new audiences, so I'm excited by the task ahead.'
Mike Foster, former Government minister for international development, has replaced Edmans at WaterAid (prweek.com/uk, 19 November). Foster has a remit for comms and research, and leads a team covering media, publications, web, film, photography and internal comms.
