Public Affairs: WS chairman set to retire

Weber Shandwick chairman of European public affairs Wilf Weeks is retiring after 30 years in the industry.

The lobbying stalwart co-founded GJW Government Relations in 1980 and joined WS in 2000. He also played a key role in the cross-industry discussions that led to the Association of Professional Political Consultants in 1994.

He said: 'After ten years at Weber Shandwick and more than 30 years in the lobbying industry, it's time for a change of scenery. Having been in on the early days of the industry, it's been fascinating to see it grow into what it is today. I want to spend more time building on my existing outside interests and take on new issues I want to support.'
